eLearning Training 25th & 29th November 2006
eLearning Training
application of Information Communications Technology (ICT)
The Workshop is planning training sessions to enable tutors to make constructive use of ICT across the curriculum. ICT means computers of course, but also includes mobile phones, iPods, mp3 players, interactive whiteboards, digital cameras, camcorders, and so on. Recent web developments such as blogs, podcasts and social networking resources will also be discussed.
One example could be the use of digital cameras or camcorders to record learners’ progression over a period producing artwork, signing, or other ‘difficult to record’ achievements.
Another example could involve learners passing around a cordless keyboard to compose a joint story or other narrative which would display on the interactive whiteboard. When everyone was happy with the outcome this could then be posted onto a blog or ‘social networking’ site such as mySpace or YouTube.
An essential component of effective eLearning is that the equipment is reliable and well-supported and that the tutor is confident in their use of it. To this end the Workshop is providing training on the following dates:
Wednesday 29th November
Saturday 25th November
